Larissa de Macedo Machado was born, creating Anitta for the world – an authentic hurricane from Brazil who is leaving her track a little all over the world. Anitta is the living proof that we can still be wowed and surprised, and that it’s still possible to drag massive fan crowds on the 21st Century. She started dancing and singing very young but still before her success, Anitta studied marketing – some faculties that she would later apply in the management of her career, an example of boldness, strategy and hard work. She started to be known through her YouTube channel and soon Anitta became a synonym of the word success in Brazil, thanks to her singles such as “Meiga e Abusada” and “Show das Poderosas”. The Brazilian artist will not rest in the shadow of her own successes so, within 3 years she has released three albums: She began by releasing a self-titled album in 2012 and then “Ritmo Perfeito” in June 2014 and “Bang” in 2015 which delighted the Brazilian audience – Anitta was only 22 years old then. Everything happened very fast in Anitta’s life, almost to the rhythm of her own frenetic, almost vertiginous music which takes inspiration from funk, reggaeton or even the best Latin pop. When describing Anitta, it’s easy to go for Beyoncé, Katy Perry or Rihanna for references but the truth is Anitta distinguishes herself and rises above the most obvious comparisons. Successes such as “Na Batida”, “Deixa Ele Sofrer” or “Sua Cara” (by Major Lazer, featuring Anitta and Pablo Vittar) have contributed (very much) to the Carioca artist’s international acclaim, counting millions of views on YouTube. In addition to her fan’s affection, Anitta has reached some records and seen her work recognised through several awards and nominations. Forbes magazine even compared her to Shakira, highlighting her potential as a worldwide pop star. As for some news, the singer has released “Solo” (an allusion to the single life), her first EP, at the end of 2018. Three songs, each one sung in a different language, this EP shows an artist who is capable of embracing the whole world. “Porque Yo Soy Tu Veneno”, one of these new songs, promises to conquer the Portuguese audience on August 7, at the MEO Stage, in MEO Sudoeste.
